Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6
I think these story is awesome because Karana is just a girl and she stays alone on the island and learn how to survive. Karana gets mature by mother Nature and learn how to survive with dangerous problems. With the time she start loving the animals and living with them. I think in part these is a good teaching of life but in real life I woldnt like these happen to me. The story is interasting because I put myself at her point of view and start thinking what I would do.
Karana is not only the major character of the story; she is nearly the only human character in the story. At the age of twelve, she finds herself alone on the island where she was born. Mostly she interacts with the animals on the island. She spends much time responding to what occurs in nature. Over time, her attitude toward animals changes.
The story is told as a narrative. We know only what Karana knows. We see things the way that they look to Karana. This limits to a degree what we know about the situations described. It also gives us a clear picture of what causes Karana's attitudes to change because we know her version of what happens to her and her environment.
